Dianthus Cranmere Pool
I bought a gift for the bees in my garden today , from Judy at the Country Market in the Guild Hall in Helston . She has a lovely selection of pretty cottage garden plants , fuchsias , pelargoniums , unusual indoor plants , cacti and succulents some of which are quite rare .
Others call them Carnations or simply Pinks . Now where shall I plant it ?
So pretty. I have a similar one, maybe called Gran's favourite. I've lost the label.
ReplyDeleteAh ! yes , I used to have that one many years ago , a beautiful dainty little one isn't it ? ...and with a very strong spicy sweet clove scent . Oh dear I,m going to have to look out for that one now too !:)
DeleteMaybe I could send you some slips later on?
DeleteThat'll be a nice idea . We'll do a swap...I,ll see if I can peg down a piece and get it to root : ) x
ReplyDeleteI was brought up to call them pinks (because of the pinked petal edges) but whatever their names they do smell lovely, don't they?
ReplyDeleteThanks for alerting me to a problem with a link on my blog - fixed now!
Pretty pink!! Have you planted it and has she made friends with others in the garden ? :)
ReplyDeleteYes...she is waiting for the butterflies to visit ! :)
DeleteWe planted many Gillyflowers in the Elizabethan Garden at Kenilworth...they were very prized even that far back. Their scent is really lovely. The Elizabethans unlike us, liked to plant their plants with lots of room around them, in order to admire them all the more. I am sure you will find a lovely spot, maybe near your favourite seat.
ReplyDeleteI will be on the look out for more of these ! : )
