Tomorrow

Jobs for tomorrow -

Plant my potatoes in tubs . Albert Bartlett absolutely delicious and Soraya for a little bit later on .

Venture into the jungle , trail blaze my way up and along the top , prune hydrangeas , roses and Photinia "Red Robin " , check on a couple of young saplings that I planted last year and fight brambles .

I want it tidy before the lovely Azaleas begin to flower .

And I want to get this bed a little bit more ready .🌿🌿🐰 My chives are coming up nicely , but being nibbled by cheeky bunnykins !  πŸ°πŸ‡πŸŒΏπŸŒΏ So I need to invent some sort of cover with the blue water pipe stuff and netting again ...probably .....  πŸ€”

My Rhubarb is very slow to grow this year , maybe because we haven't had a particularly cold Winter . I'm not sure ? Maybe it needs a good feed with something . I'll have a think about it ...hmmm ....

Meanwhile up in Buckinghamshire ....

Not only is my brother's Rhubarb three times the size of mine ....πŸ™„........

....... but , he is making pies and crumbles galore !  🀩    He is the champion of all Rhubarb growers and pie makers !   πŸ†πŸŒΏπŸŒΏ

Weather has been "Oh ! My goodness ! Sunny and very warm !  🌀️Very strange and wonderful !☀️
🐝  I saw my first Bumblebee of the year basking in the sunshine !

Sorry   πŸ€£  ....... you can zoom in a little bit !

I couldn't get down any closer as I would have been kneeling in squelchy muddy grass . Normally I don't mind having muddy knees but we were about to go out .

Tomorrow I can enjoy getting my knees muddy  !

All fer now my lovelies !

                                                         Love   Debbie  x

Labyrinth - second cut of the year 🌿

πŸŒ¦️   Very tricky cutting damp grass , but it had to be done .🌦️

Also , I had to use the small lawn mower because we have mislaid the batteries for the larger one .
With the larger lawn mower I can do the labyrinth path in one go .
With the small lawn mower I have to go around twice !
I hate these stupid battery operated lawn mowers !  I just like to have one that plugs in and goes on proper electricity .

Hopefully Ricardo will find the batteries and next time I can use the big lawn mower and  the labyrinth will look much sharper .

I put all the grass clippings under the bean-frame  .
πŸͺ»The grey plants are Lavender πŸͺ»πŸͺ»πŸͺ»They will attract bees in to my beans 🐝🐝🐝
When they flower I can sit down in the middle and breathe in the Heavenly fragrance ! ☺️✨

March - Tidying the Garden continues 🌿

Sunshine and showers ......but mostly showers .....mizzle and drifting sea mist .

Expertrees came to sort out some of our larger trees . I was amazed to see tree surgeon climb so high up into our Eucalyptus tree !  He reduced the height . There are branches lower down and it should now become a much better shape . I love my Eucalyptus tree ! At last it's had the attention it has needed for so long .

The big old dark and totally useless Morello Cherry tree has been cut down , to allow light in for my much better looking  Monkey Puzzle tree  . You have to earn your keep if you want to be a tree in my garden !
The cherry will bush out from the bottom ,  I can manage it and the birds can nest in it . The variegated  Griselinia littoralis and the gorgeous Acer Bloodgood on the right hand side will also benefit from having more light .

At the moment the little Monkey Puzzle tree is the star of the show . I grew it from seed 🌱.

We are slowly getting the garden back into shape after all the Winter storms .

Look at our new fence !   Look at that fence !!!  Two amazing chaps did that for us .

We have had so much rain , same as everyone , that it quickly became an absolute quagmire !

My granddaughter helped me to restore it . We raked it level , sprinkled compost and scattered grass seed . It will be raining for the next few days and should soon germinate . It has also become a little bit milder ,which will also help .
She got pocket money .....more than I ever got !  🀣

Meanwhile in the shed ........

My Lavender plug plants from Thompson and Morgan have arrived  !

I'm pleased with them . They are tiny but healthy looking plug plants .

I quickly got them potted up and into the greenhouse just while they settle in and get their roots down .

It's been a busy time with dentist and my last physio appointment . I no longer need the walking stick , just need to keep doing the exercises and keeping my core muscles strong .
Dentist was not for me this time but Ricardo . A long trek into Truro and trying out the new "park and ride "......I took my needlework and met two lovely ladies in the waiting room who were also into embroidery , watercolour painting and quilting and crafts .  We talked and laughed and nattered away happily while Ricardo was being seen to upstairs .

Flowers appearing now -  lovely Primroses .πŸ’›

......and in my secret Fern garden  ...

πŸ      The peculiar little  Arisorum proboscideum  .     πŸ

Also known as "The Mouse Tail Plant "

That's all fer now my lovelies !

Love and Peace and a little more kindness in the world would be good  πŸ•Š️
