Day five of Fog

Yep day five of fog . We need the sun to come out now and dry out the hay .

Our  Cornish Elm has really gone downhill with the Dutch Elm disease  ...sigh....the leaves have only appeared on the lower  half of the tree .

On my way to the greenhouse this morning , I'm thinking how lush everything is today . We had torrential rain over-night  . No need to go around with the watering can today .

Incy wincy has made a new web , but he's hiding , just watching and waiting .

So , in the greenhouse we go ......

                                         Oh yeah !  ☺️

                                           Oh yeah !  ☺️

Oh my goodness !  Here come the Sweet Peppers !
This year I'm growing one called "Snackbite Red " Sown in February .

I am quite impressed with these so far . Looking good !

                      Cucumbers 🌿.......

........just doing what Cucumber plants do 🌿🌿🌿🐝

The Primrose like leaves coming up in the Ledebouria pot has not gone unnoticed .
I will have to sort them out later on .

This old Epiphyllum needs re-potting .
I think it is a gorgeous red flowering one .
This was from my mum's plant , who in turn had a piece from my Grandmother's plant .
I have no idea from where my Grandmother acquired it . No garden centres back in her day .
                   πŸŒΏπŸŒΏπŸŒΏ            🌿🌿🌿           πŸŒΏπŸŒΏπŸŒΏ
I'll take off that yellowing Phylloclade . Not strictly being a leaf as such .....rather a modified stem having the function of a leaf .

I will make several cuttings from that .

Epiphyllum Curt Backberg ....broken ....grrrr.....  🐈‍⬛

             Epiphyllum Curt Backeberg flower .
🐈‍⬛I suspect a neighbour's cat has been in again and broken off a couple of branches from this Epie .  Grrr ......( it's not really a very safe place for a puddy tat in a cactus greenhouse ! )  🌡
Oh well !  I gave these to a couple of friends at church this morning .
I only give cuttings to people who I know have green fingers , will love them and can make them grow !

I fixed up netting to stop the cat coming in . I have also had to usher out the Robin who follows me everywhere .

I rescue bees and butterflies with the aid of a children's rock pool fishing net .

                                      Oooh !  ☺️

Kalenchoe ..I have several varieties and can't remember their names .
Mother of Thousands is it's more folky name .
She is flowering right now and there are thousands of babies !

Gawd ! What am I going to do with them all !
Let me know if you'd like one !

Selenicereus chrysocardium ....... I call it my Whale's Tail Epie    πŸ‹

It lives on my bathroom windowsill .
It had some mealiebugs . I treated it and left it outside last night in the rain , to rinse it off .🌧️ Lordy didn't it rain hard last night !  🌧️🌧️🌧️
It looks so much better this morning .  Refreshed !

I think the sun is trying to come out .☀️ Time for lunch and then off for a walk .

Love and Peace πŸ•Š️ Go and make it a great day !

                                         Love Debbie πŸ’x

Day Four of Fog

Well , the fog did lift for a little while first thing this morning . Just long enough for me to get a load of washing dry on the line . Yay !

Also just long enough for Colin to mow the meadow  .

I did a few things in the vegetable garden, a quick hoeing of weeds . You can see the fog drifting back in behind the trees .

And then it properly drifted in again .....

We went for our daily walk over at Goonhilly .

                                                       Click twice

Heard a Cuckoo quite close by . Of course it stopped cuckooing when I started filming !

We could barely make out the massive satellite dishes  through the fog !

We haven't walked over here for so long . We've missed the Primroses  , but there are so many other lovely wild flowers and grasses  .
I'm so glad we decided to come here today .

Orchids 🌿  There are purple , pink and white spotted Orchids  🐝
The Orchids were too far for me to walk out to , the ground very squelchy and quite deep bog in places .
  Magical misty and mizzley .....
✨  Orchids and Cornish Piskies live here and it is on such a day as this that you might be lucky enough to see one  ✨✨✨

Purple Heather  🌿  Erica vagans   πŸπŸŒΏ

Yellow Rattle 🌿 Rhinanthus minor   πŸπŸ¦‹πŸŒΏ

Rosa canina  🌿 Pink Dog Rose  🐝🌿

Rosa canina 🌿 White Dog Rose

                           Trifolium pratense 🌿Red Clover

                               Pretty purple Vetch 🌿Vicia sativa

I tried to coax him out but ..no.... he knew my tickling the cobweb was not the real thing !  πŸ•Έ️

                        Beautiful grasses !

                           ........and my favourite Meadowsweet  ❤️🌿

A very enjoyable walk , lots of lovely little memories .
Then home .  Lit the fire .
Yes I lit the fire ! I know elsewhere in the country you are all basking in hot sunshine ....not here ....maybe next week .

Here we are having fog ......but not letting it stop us going for our walks .

Yes ,  they are saying that Sunday it should start to warm up and Monday /Tuesday it will be hot .....my husband will be happy , he loves it .

Not so much me ..... I get heatstroke very easily .

Anyway I am very happy for all of you who love it and all our lovely visitors .

As for me today ....
I spent some time preparing some embroidery that I will be working on over the coming weeks . I'll be sitting in the shade .

Any necessary gardening operations will be done very early in the morning .

                               Peace and Love πŸ•Š️

Day three of Fog

                                  Day three of fog .

I think it is starting to lift now . Very humid and warm .

I wasn't going to talk about cucumbers today , but on my way up to check everything in the greenhouse ....... I spotted this wee chap !

Now I am usually terrified of spiders , but this one is so tiny and so beautiful !

I know it's a blurry photo but I wanted to give you an idea of just how tiny it is .

I looked it up and guess what ? It's a Cucumber Spider ! Yes really ! πŸ˜„

Araniella cucurbitina ...... d'you wanna see some more pics of it ? Got some of him having his lunch later on ! ☺️

I wonder if he'll still be there tomorrow or if he'll move house  .

I fixed up some shade net up to keep it cool in there and to keep a local cat from going in !

All is well in the greenhouse today .

A new leaf has unfurled on my Monstera delicosa .

                              Cucumber Carmen
🌿 I might pick this one tomorrow ☺️🌿

Will the sun come out tomorrow ?

Foggy Days

                                        The beach

So , I've had three or four days of migraine misery and I'm now at the feeling washed out stage after it  .

                            ✨✨⛈️🌈⚡πŸ’₯πŸ’«πŸ«¨πŸ₯΅✨✨😱

And the weather kind of matches how I'm feeling ....ugh .....

 It is foggy .........

Looking out to sea along the cliffs

......... this is day two of fogginess .

It's not unheard of for it to hang around for two weeks . We didn't let it stop us from getting out for our walk .

                                   πŸŒ«️🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️🌫️

Anyway ,

My new string has arrived !  I know that most of you out there won't understand ,  but look at it ! 🀩    Isn't it gorgeous ? !   πŸ˜ƒ  I'm in love !

This little bit of string is making me feel SO happy !

Next year I will fix up this paracord before the cucumbers get scrabbling !

There are lots of flowers and fruits on them now .

I fixed up the paracord and went round gently resting the cucumber vines on and around it . They can now climb up to the roof and over to the other side .
Everything is happily rambling , Epiphyllums ,  Bowiea volubilis , Tomatoes , Passiflora manicata , Hylocereus undatus , cucumbers .
Wonderful ! There is a feeling of happiness in my greenhouse .
            All is well .....

So long as I can get in to water everything , everybody happy !

The cucumbers I'm growing ----
Cucumbers - Merlin are about 7" and Carmen F1 about 13" to 16"

We are getting one every other day now . This is  Cucumber Carmen F1 . My granddaughter taking this one down to the kitchen . They are beautiful !

My grandchildren have been great !

They  have been so helpful weeding the gravel area for me .

The garden is full of lovely flowers now .

We did have one lovely sunny day , but the wind was so strong and cold .

The wind scorched back the leaves of my Voodoo lilies .

....This Sauromatum venosum  voodoo lily had it's beautiful spathe snapped backwards .....such a shame ...these are fascinating plants .

Over in the shed ...

I am keeping a close eye on those Epiphyllum cuttings .

Epiphyllum Marilyn Monroe is growing away merrily, but not staying inside the plant support I gave her . No flower buds this year .  Maybe later on .

Nice new shoots and I have a cutting for my brother .🌿

Agaves again !  🌿

Re-potting my bigger Agaves and potting up these tiny off shoots .

They should grow away happily now .

                 Happy little Agave pups .

Some of the others that I tidied up . I really need more horticultural grit. It is so expensive . These need to have really good drainage .  This will have to do for the time being .

                      This makes me chuckle !

Disaster in the woodshed . Someone overloaded the shelving and I walked in to find it collapsed .
I managed to recover most of the plants . Just one pelargonium smashed .
I want to get all of these plants out and into the garden as soon as possible .
Cosmos , Hollyhocks , Pelargoniums and even the Dahlias if I can manage it .

Another little job to do .   I'll show you tomorrow  .

                            Cheerio fer now !

                            Peace and Love  πŸ’Debbie xxx

No one's looking at this , you're all watching football !
